cedar point

Thursday me and the family traveled back to Sandusky Ohio again to go to the best amusement park in the world.CEDAR POINT ! If your in to roller coasters this is it ! The tallest ,the fastest, the most thrilling coasters on the planet ! And yes they have a cool water park to.On this day it was about 100 degrees with the heat index,so we decided this trip will spend at the water park. And boy i'm glad we did ,cause I don't think I could have stood in lines for the rides in that heat.Me and the wife spent most of the time in the lazy river floating along and just relaxing. The kids were all over the park going down all the different water slides and hitting the wave pool. Don't plan feeding 7 people cheap there though,a coke, hamburger, fries $15 bucks ! WOW !! THAT'S A WALLET BUSTER ! So we left the park to eat lunch at the $5 buffet 6 miles down the road! Man that was the best food since I ate at my mommas a couple months ago.I think we need to go to mommas more often, but she doe's live 900 miles away. Anyway next trip to Cedar Point we will ride the coasters, and will make sure its on a cooler day!

Hy-Miler Nationals

This past weekend was the Hi-Miler Nationals at Sandusky Speedway,in Sandusky Ohio. This is a 3 day event starting on Thursday night which was dollar night ,a dollar to get in for the races a dollar for hot dogs and drinks.Racing that night were streetstocks, pony cars and champ karts on the asphalt half mile.People look forward to this race all year long as this is BIG ONE for the year, people come from as far as New York camping out for the weekend, cooking out and drinking plenty of ice cold beer. In fact the heat index was near 100 degrees for the 3 day event but the stands were packed all 3 days.Friday the 305 sprint cars were on the track for some awesome racing, but the rain came right before the features were run. They ended up running the features the next morning.Saturday night was the BIG SHOW that everyone came for THE SUPER MODIFIEDS ,these are 900 horsepower 1600 pound cars. They're like indy cars on steroids,24 cars started the 100 lap feature and let me tell ya when they take the green flag IT 'S ON! These cars are the fastest race cars on earth, if you never seen this cars you owe it to your self to see them in action. The engines are big blocks maximum 460 cubic inches, fuel injected running on methanol. There is nothing like em ,after 100 laps they were 10 left racing, with the winner number 78 from Canada winning the show. This was my second time going and my wifes first time and we both agreed this is going to be a family tradition.

football camp

This is the time of year FOOTBALL CAMP started Monday. Joshua is a freshman this year playing football for the Mighty Indians, the Indians play smash mouth football.Which is line up shoulder to shoulder and run the ball down your throat, they might throw a dozen times a game that's it.They started playing this kind of ball three years ago when Tecumseh got a new Varsity head football coach.Tecumseh's record has only been mediocure since they started playing this kind of ball, and if this year's record doesn't improve I think the coach will be replaced. Anyway Joshua's freshman team has 42 players as of now, unfortunealy for Josh there's 37 players bigger than him.Now Josh is no small thing he's 5 foot 3 140 lbs,I would say the average kid on his team is 5'10" 160 pounds. They do have around ten kids over 6 foot tall well over 200 pounds. I told Josh give your all and hit them on their butts,be a play maker and you'll be a starter on the team.Josh is a good player but he needs to get mean on the field, but if you know Josh he's the most respectful, nicest kid you'll ever meet.Which he has not got the mentality of a football player ,but he stills plays because me and his mom wants him to.He makes us so proud he is the best son a dad could ever have.I love that kid.

farewell old Taurus

Well yesterday me and my wife went for a drive to look at a used car that was for sale. My wife's car is a 2000 Taurus with 234000 miles on it ,it has been a wonderful car but now its starting to have some problems. So I whip in the driveway to look at this car and put it in park, well the Taurus starts missing and the muffler gets loud and the car will barely idle.So we don't even look at the used car that we went to see and head back home, we just get in the driveway at home and white smoke starts rolling out from under the hood The next day I went and bought the used car we went to look at the day before, I got a really good deal on it a 2002 gran prix with 74000 miles on it. The TAURUS is on its way the the scrap yard for scrap, come to find out 2 of the 6 cylinders is not firing and the motor is toast ! I guess this turned out to be a blessing because Ive been looking for a couple of months for a car I could afford and my Taurus made it till the last day !

lacross

Today my son Joshua went off for 4 days to Adrian college for Lacross camp. This is put on by Nike. This is the fastest growing sport in the country,it looked like they had a lot of kids for this camp about 125 kids. The ages are from 11 to 17 years of age, if anyone has never seen the game it is fast and quite exciting. Its a cross between soccer and hockey, its more important to be fast and skillful, than big and tough. Hopefully Josh will learn some new skills and hone the old ones.He really loves this game as much as racing,if he can be half as good as he is a racer he will be a very good player.I already miss him and hes only been gone for a half a day! I sure love that little man !

off to school she gos

My daughter Chelsea just turned 10 years old and is entering 5th grade middle school this year. She was chosen to enter the head start program for school, which is a 2 week program that last 3 hours each day to introduce the students to some of the courses they will be taking. She is so excited about going to school, she loves to learn and be around her friends. I must say when I was a child going to school in the summer was diffently not on my list of things to do. It seems to me girls enjoy school a lot more than boys, dont you think?

weekend in Pa.

This past weekend we were in Pennsalvania racing go karts at Beaverun, the Jammer Clutchs Gold Cup Nationals. The weather was sunny and hot and the racing was very competitive We had 17 entries in our class with the best drivers in the country. Our Friday practice was horrible fighting a tight condition we were 3 seconds of the pace.Saturday we fought the same condition and managed to have a 8th place finish in the light class and a 9th place finish in the heavys.Sundays races we finally got the kart right but ended up getting run of the track in our feature races, finishing 8th and 11th in the race. It was a grueling weekend with the heat and the problems with the kart, but any day at the race track is better than a day at work! All in all our family had a great time and making precious memories is what its all about.

gold cup race

Here in my household we do many things. Today we are packing up and going to a National 4 cycle go kart race in Beaverun Pa. My son Joshua has been racing go karts since age 5,two weeks ago he turned 14. I just cant believe how the years fly by,I wish I could slow down the clock so I could enjoy every precous moment even more. But I will say packing for a 3 day trip is just a frustrating as packing for a 2 week trip. Now for me its a breeze throw some underwear, socks, shorts, shirts in a suitcase its really easy right. Well tell that to my wife and daughter, OMG tell that to them its a 12 hour job of arguing which outfit, what shoes,on and on and on.Why cant it be easy and quick, I mean I can be packed in less than 5 minutes, so can Joshua. Please Lord help me ! I just get so frustrated sometimes I just want to drive off and leave the girls behind ! Well that has never happened but it comes across my mind often, hopefully we will be on the road by 4 pm and we will be chipper and enjoying each other on this holiday weekend.
